A message for the Governor

In February, Inflation hit 4%. The Governor of The bank of England, had to write yet another letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

“Dear Chancellor” it said, “Inflation is over target but it’s not my fault, you put up VAT, the Chinese are buying commodities around the world and Sterling has devalued which is making the job even worse. But not to worry, sooner or later, inflation will return to target because of the output gap. I and the MPC are doing a grand job”.
