Record breaking ski mountaineer Suzy Madge encouraged Manchester professionals to ‘dare to dream’ at a future pro·manchester event today at Innospace, Manchester Metropolitan University.

As part of the organisation’s entrepreneurship season, Suzy shared her incredible experience of survival in the wilderness and how this can apply to thriving in the business world.

suzymadgeA trained psychologist, life coach and linguist, Suzy is one of only a handful of people to climb and ski in the ‘death zone’ above 8000m. So motivated to push her mental and physical barriers, Suzy smashed her collarbone in 2003 and decided to scale Kilimanjaro to ‘prevent herself from going bonkers’.

Suzy’s experience as an adventurer and psychologist translated into a captivating presentation to business people keen to release their inner entrepreneur.

Commenting on the event, Suzy said: “Very few of us have the opportunity to discover and be true to our authentic selves. Finding your passion and fulfilling it is a great way to be happy and is equally relevant to business as it is to life in general.”

Chairman of future pro.manchester, Alex Solk, said: “We’re thrilled to have secured Suzy as a speaker and are keen to hear her story and be inspired by her remarkable achievements.

“Suzy is part of a series of high profile speakers making up our entrepreneurship season, which will culminate in December with the announcement of the future pro·manchester Entrepreneur of the Year.”
