Chris Baguley Profile

This week saw the start of a new chapter for pro.manchester with the appointment of Chris Baguley as chairman.  Chris was officially handed the reins at Thursday’s AGM held at the Midland Hotel.

Chris began his career at Yorkshire Bank, where he worked for over 10 years.  He later moved to Manchester Building Society as its head of underwriting.  His banking and finance background led him to his current position of managing director at short-term funding company, Bridging Finance Limited, and director at Auction Finance Limited, which provides funds for purchases at auction. 

He has been instrumental in raising the profiles of both companies since joining in 2006.  Within the first 12 months of joining Bridging Finance, Chris increased lending from approximately £1 million to more than £24 million.  In the past four years, the two lending institutions have lent more than £160 million.  He continues to build upon this success.
Chris is already a prominent figure at pro.manchester.  He was formerly chairman of the communications committee and has also been vice-chairman of the organisation.

In his new role as chairman, Chris will focus on expanding our offering to members.  Working closely with chief executive John Ashcroft, he will help to develop headline initiatives, such as the Corporate Outreach Enterprise – CORE, which aims to raise the profile of the sector and present members with increased business opportunities
