Connecting with corporates key for new pro.manchester Chairman Reaching out to corporates is the goal of pro·manchester's newly elected Chairman Paul Lupton speaking at today’s AGM and 25th Anniversary Lunch.
He said “ we need to make pro·manchester the gateway for business in the North. The more business we can attract to the Manchester, the more relevant and valuable we are as an organisation for the membership” There was also cause for celebration as pro·manchester reached the milestone of 25 years of representing financial and professional services in the city region. Having originally started life as the Manchester Financial and Professional Forum in 1986 with around forty members the organisation now boasts over 300 corporate members, over 5000 professionals and a programme of over 130 events annually. Allan Watson one of the founders of the organisation speaking to members expressed great joy to see the mighty oak which has grown from such a small acorn. Bolton based Paul is a Corporate Finance advisory partner at Deloitte and takes over from Chris Baguley as Chairman of pro.manchester. Paul Johnson, Partner at Cobbetts takes over as Deputy Chairman whilst newly elected board members included Alan Rigby, HSBC; Tricia Chatterton,The College of Law; Nick Davenport, Turner Parkinson; Steve Kuncewicz, Gateley; Austin Hutchinson, Mutual Financial Management, Alex Solk; Sheppard Robson and Sue Webster of BT |

Addressing over 130 pro·manchester members in the Lowry Hotel’s River Restuarant, Paul set out his themes for his year in the chair which included, reaching out to corporates through the events programme and a shift in focus for the conference to be held in March with a view to attracting a more corporate audience and providing direct benefits to members.
