Focused on the future

Member’s of future pro·manchester are ending the year with a whole host of useful business contacts gained from a busy of year of activity for the group.

milesnewsPart of pro·manchester, future pro·manchester represents tomorrow’s leaders in the sector, providing the right environment for young professionals to network with like minded people at a series of events designed to inspire, educate and develop skills. future pro·manchester welcomed a new chairman this year Miles Rothbury, Relationship Director at Barclays Corporate along with a fresh business focused approach to events.

Events during 2010 have included the ever popular Speed Networking with sessions in March and October of this year both held at the Yang Sing and designed to boost your business contacts in minutes. The annual summer event this year held at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s new development The Point. The evening focused on opportunities and overs as attendees got to network and enjoy a cricket match.

The series of Professional Innovator events kicked off in October with the launch event held at Epernay Champagne and Cocktail Bar,  and was followed by breakfast sessions focusing on Innovation and not forgetting the Christmas event with an innovative spin ‘Networking on Ice’ whereby attendees were encouraged to break the ice although not literally by taking a spin and making a few connections along the way.

The Professional Innovator Challenge itself is now well underway and will be the main focus of events and future pro.manchester activity in early 2011. The entrants have been shortlisted and will begin their series of short challenges in January, the finalists will be selected  in March with the overall winners to be crowned at a sparkling awards ceremony in April.  As for the rest of 2011 old favourites like Speed Networking return and there’ll be a few surprises in store too.
