Describe your day job
My day job is hugely varied but covers working with the creative and digital teams to develop projects through to meeting with senior marketing managers in European headquarters. There is no ‘typical’ day as no two projects are the same and we’re constantly developing new technology, new ideas and ultimately new client relationships. It’s an exciting time to be working in the digital sector and to be at the forefront of the industry.

How did you get to be in that Job? What attracted you to it? What was the application process like and what qualifications/skill were required?
My first encounter with Creative Lynx was back as an Office Junior, straight out of high school. I saw a bright company that was going places, and we kept in touch while I went on to study Design at Brunel University. They sponsored me through the final stages, before I completed placements in London, San Francisco and Vancouver. That was almost 6 years ago now and since then I’ve taken the lead of growing a digital team of 20 which continues to grow at a healthy rate. So I’ve very much evolved into my role, but I’m sure that some of the awards we’ve picked up along the way haven’t done me any harm! We’ve become one of the fastest growing digital teams in the UK, comfortably broke the elusive £1m turnover barrier some time ago and are now recognised in our industries as pioneers. I kind of feel like I’ve earned the title!
Tell us a bit more about your job? Who do you work with both internally and externally (ie clients etc)? What is a typical day like? What is the best thing about your job?
As anyone in a similar role could tell you, the demands of the job vary wildly from day to day. While I’m in the office, I work with the creatives, developers and the account handlers to deliver engaging digital solutions and then also alongside the board members to develop the wider business.

Whilst we’re based in Manchester, our work takes me all over the UK and Europe to meet with European and Global marketing teams. I love the fact that days are different and I get to work in such an engaging and innovative industry. It keeps every day fresh.
Where do you see yourself going in the future? Where does this job lead?
As Digital Director, my future is firmly with Creative Lynx. It’s more of a question of where is the company headed. And the answer to that is continued growth. There’s no denying that digital technology is the future and as time goes by it is only becoming more and more significant in our daily lives. For us that means continued growth, not only in numbers but also in terms of our offerings and the sectors we work in. We’ve established an excellent reputation in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries and now we’re looking to transfer those learnings and the technology into other sectors which could benefit. Right now that translates into developing our professional and financial services division which has been expanding recently too.
What is your greatest achievement?
I’m proud of all the work we’ve produced at Creative Lynx and I’m exceptionally proud of the team, but I think personally, my greatest moment was when the London Science Museum approached me to exhibit my final degree project. It was recognised by the museum as a pioneering digital solution and subsequently reported across the globe. For a graduate, that was a pretty proud experience.
Why Manchester?!
Because it’s home, it’s got a burgeoning digital sector and history of success in all sorts of industries - and because really it’s got everything we need. Why go anywhere else?
