The event was hosted for students in Manchester seeking placements, internships, vacation work and graduate positions. It was also designed to help graduates find out what opportunities are available in Manchester businesses.Manchester firms Kintish and Zurich held interactive employer-led workshops covering topics such as business networking skills and what employers look for in an interview. Students were able to meet with Manchester-based professionals from across a broad range of sectors. The exhibiting list included Marks and Spencer, Kellogg’s, Pannone LLP, Paver Smith, The Co-operative Group and Financial Services Skills Council. Lindsay Halliday, placement manager at Manchester Metropolitan University, said: “The fair is a fantastic platform for employers to promote themselves and a great tool to meet prospective employees. Our students have had the opportunity to network with a wide variety of employers and been able to gain insightful knowledge into their particular sectors.” For more information on pro.manchester’s skills programme and events visit www.pro-manchester.co.uk/skillsprogramme |
