Alderman Michael Bear, the 683rd Lord Mayor of the City of London, attended a future pro.manchester panel discussion on Tuesday morning to hear from leading business figures why our city is making a name for itself internationally.
He emphasised the importance of Manchester working in conjunction with London to ensure international success. He added: “It’s all about the three Cs, commodities, surplus cash and creativity. We are the world leader in innovation and I believe this will be our saving grace; our USP.” future pro.manchester chairman Miles Rothbury urged the panel – including Ian Pettigrew, of Bank of New York Mellon, Sapna Mock of Deloitte, Fran Eccles-Bech, of Manchester Law Society, and Manchester Business School student Chris Hunt, to present Manchester’s case to the Lord Mayor. Ian Pettigrew praised the city’s ‘expertise, excellence and energy’ with Chris Hunt describing Manchester as a ‘city which has pushed back boundaries’ in innovation. This discussion was part of a series of events organised to mark the Lord Mayor’s visit to Manchester. You may also be interested this story Manchester: A city to be proud of |
