Paul lifts the lid on property news in the North West

Continuing our popular Meet The Editor series, Paul Unger, editor of Place North West presented his views on the region’s property market on Wednesday.

paulungerFrom predictions on sector trends and areas of interest for potential investors to the state of print media, Paul shared his industry expertise with pro.manchester members.

With a career spanning more than 13 years – including stints as business editor at Liverpool Daily Post as well as regional news reporting on the Western Morning News – Paul spotted a gap in the market in 2007 and launched a property-specific title for the North West.

The idea originally arose when he was asked to write a property supplement for the failed North West Enquirer. He said: “I remember thinking, if that fails, I’m having the idea.”

The rest is property news history.

Place North West reports on a range of property-related topics and Paul believes its all-inclusive approach has helped bolster readership.

He added: “There are titles which are specific to Manchester and Liverpool but we look at the whole region and are focused on making good contacts in places such as Cumbria. “We’re focused on growing our contacts there.”

The event was held at Brabners Chaffe Street.
