BRINGING business opportunities to members will be a priority for future pro.manchester’s new chairman. Miles Rothbury, who is a relationship director at Barclays Bank, has taken the helm of the younger division of the membership organisation – aimed at those aged up to 35 – and wants to build on its already strong platform.
He said: “I want to work with the committee to develop future pro.manchester’s network, and create introductions for new business opportunities, while growing and driving income opportunities. “The future pro.manchester team has worked hard to improve our brand presence and this is something I will continue to grow.” Miles will oversee the Professional Innovator challenge – which offers members and students the chance to showcase their innovation in a series of tasks – and believes this is a perfect opportunity for professional and financial services experts to make their mark. He said: “There is a perception entrepreneurship is solely for industry not professional services. It is a mindset which is ill-founded. There is a huge amount of talent and innovation alive and well in professional services.” In his role at Barclays, Miles provides a complete banking solution to a portfolio of clients ranging from £5million to £250million businesses. In his spare time, Miles enjoys taking part in military fitness training, playing sport and rock climbing.
