Sector Focus

As part of the ongoing programme to widen its offering to members, pro.manchester launched a number of sector specific groups including Public Sector, Creative and Digital, Energy and Environment, Sports and Healthcare.

The Public Sector forum was set up in conjunction with Deloitte LLP and held its inaugural event in October covering the Comprehensive Spending Review Mark Lawrie, National Head of Local and Regional Government for Deloitte LLP led the session this covered the opportunities which may be created for professionals in the North West, what the CSR means for them and how they can help shape the future direction of public service provision.

The Healthcare group was set up with a group of professionals from member firms and held its first event in December. The event sponsored by RBS, was chaired by leading healthcare TV correspondent Elaine Wilcox and Mike Farrar Chief Executive of NHS North West and discussed the changes and opportunities for businesses in the North West healthcare sector.

The next Public Sector and Healthcare events are planned for early 2011, with Energy and Environment and Sports Industry Group events scheduled for later in the year.
