Manchester based Studio North, one of the North West’s leading independent brand design and digital consultancies, has secured two new high profile briefs; one with CATE - Manchester Metropolitan University's Centre for Air Transport and the Environment – and the other with Fylde Borough Council. For CATE, the Studio North team will be developing, designing and launching its new website. The internationally renowned research centre specialises in the environmental impacts of the aviation industry. It was established to address the challenges of sustainable development and the environmental capacity of the air transport system through research and knowledge transfer. It works closely with various stakeholders including; the International Civil Aviation Organisation, the European Commission, the UK Government as well as airports, airlines, aircraft manufacturers and NGOs. Its research informs policy formulation and supports technical development and improvement in operational management, helping to minimise the adverse environmental impacts of aviation. The principle role of the new website will be to engage with the organisation’s key audiences and to promote the standing of both the University and CATE as a quality, independent and trusted resource for research and knowledge transfer. It will also be used to recruit students and to secure income for its consultancy and training services. The website is expected to be launched later this year.
As well as leading the creative process, Studio North is also providing strategic advice on user experience and best practice as well technical support to the council’s content management suppliers. The new site will be online in January 2012. Michael di Paola, operations director at Studio North, said; ‘Both these wins are great news for the agency as they provide their own challenges for very different audiences. We all know that the public sector has been hit hard so it’s positive to see that effective digital communications are still seen as a vital component for long term success, engagement and development.’ |
