Support Manchester’s bid to become a leading digital centre

MANCHESTER needs a forum to support creative businesses if it is to become a leading digital centre.

That was the conclusion of Tuesday’s creative pro.manchester Earning A Buck In A Digital Age event hosted by pro.manchester and Manchester Digital.

Attendees from the professional services and creative sector joined together to hear how their relationship could work better with  ‘less jargon’ and a commitment to invest time rather than capital in the early stages of business growth.

Digital businesses focus on quality rather than profit and concentrate on creating positive working environments and investing in their people.

Professional services attendees were urged to invest in digital businesses – much like Microsoft did with Facebook – to put Manchester on the digital map for the future. The city needs to build relationships, provide mentors, support creative ideas and organise workshops as a forum to debate.

The event was hosted by KPMG and chaired by Insider's Michael Taylor. The panel included Louise Highton, Montpelier Chartered Accountants, Mike Ryan, Manchester Digital,  Fran Whittle, KPMG, Nina Mack, Worship Digital and Steve Livingston, Crowe Clarke Whitehall.
