The Light That Lights Another
Skills, education, apprenticeships form part of this process. In 2011, we want to move the agenda forward by developing initiatives such as pro·manchester.connects and the SME club. As a great self learning organisation, we have so much to offer others in guidance, education, mentoring, coaching, business preparation, access to networks, recognition, reward, access to finance, strategy, marketing, advertising, PR, online marketing, e-commerce, SEO, PPC management. We are working more closely with the Universities and Business Schools in Greater Manchester than ever before to develop the agenda. CENBAR the Centre for Business Angels Research will be developed in association with Salford University Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and Manchester Business School. Part of this process is good CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility but it is also good Business. Developing links with business and entrepreneurs makes sense. I always advise, “Ask the private sector for money and you have a problem but show the private sector a way to make money and you have a solution”. CORE - our corporate outreach programme with (.connects and SME club) is a solution. We look forward to working with you in 2011. John Ashcroft |

Secondly, I realised, pro·manchester has a role to play the life of our city. Business and professional services now account for around 30% of GDP in the Greater Manchester. We have a responsibility to assist with attainment of some of the socio economic objectives within the city region. This we can do by working more closely with the Manchester family, the city executive and political leaders to help them with the difficult task of improving quality of life for individuals and families in Greater Manchester.
